AI Data Center Town Hall for Bastrop
Wed, Jul 22
|Hampton Inn and Suites Bastrop
The recent open houses by EdgeConneX data center developers in Bastrop, were not events where citizens could ask questions and hear answers in a group setting, aka a town hall. Concerned citizens from both major parties are working with LIV to put on this event. Reach us at 512.360.8754 for more.

About the event
Community Town Hall Notice: The Facts, Just the Facts
This event is free and open to people of all persuasions and sponsored by Republicans, Democrats and independents who are working together for open government and local control.
Why We Are Meeting
Recent meetings held by EdgeConneX data center developers were touted as “town halls” but they were sales pitches that left many questions unanswered. Bastrop County took no responsibility for the lack of information provided.
EdgeConneX is planning a massive data center facility (6752 FM 535 at Wolf Lane and FM 535), in Cedar Creek, next to the Stoney Point neighborhood’s 100 families. This project is just one of many data centers targeting Bastrop County. We need to discuss the potential impacts this "gold rush" will have on our natural resources, community safety, and wallets.
The Political Stakes
While the Governor has begun taking action, the Texas Legislature left the door open for AI data center abuse by taking little action during the 2023 and 2025 sessions. We believe we need a Special Session as this cannot wait until 2027.
