Residents of the scene of the "wild, wild west of Western Bastrop County," continue to show up and be counted at meeting after meeting about the plans to grow data centers and power plants willy nilly near thousands of residences.
Today's Bastrop Commissioners Court produced some well-prepared speakers and people who spoke simply from their hearts urging the court to slow down and listen.
(LIV Note; You cannot watch a streamed video because there is none. It's just one of the problems we see at the Commissioners Court. We have also asked the court to hold evening meetings to allow more people to attend. Today, the Commissioner Butch Carmack, wisely tabled Item 4, the court's resolution on data centers to do what we hope is a more well-crafted resolution that we at LIV can support. Please review attorney Nick Leolos' submission to the court here.
And, be sure to review attorney Michele Gangnes submission for LIV to the court here.
Please also read Quorum Report's excellent article today on the Governor's maneuvers seemingly in opposition to Trump on data centers.
