LIV Monday Night Meeting: A new independent party • A real town hall

What's all the hubub about people like Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Green and others going independent? Will they form a new party? Take notice of those who kick sand into the discussion, ignoring the 45-50% of Americans who call ourselves independents. Be sure to read our blog, "A New Independent Party?" We have something useful to say...or so we hope.

AI Data Centers, as one of the organizers of the "Real Town Hall" on July 22 recently said, "are as popular as head lice," but it didn't have to be this way. The industry started with misinformation and tax abatements in the dark and now they're on the run from a torrent of criticism from Texans of all persuasions.

Take note that politicians across the country are losing seats just one this one issue alone. We can only hope!

What's our role here at LIV in the "data center dance"? To get the facts, as best we can, let people have their say, and challenge ourselves to put together local organizing that mitigates the damage underway and make plans to prevent damage in the future. In other words, it's all about real civic engagement. A real Town Hall is just part of the process. See you at 8!
